Privacy policy
1. Controller
Benjamin Decraene, Brussels, Belgium. Contact: contact@benjamindecraene.com.
2. Data processed
The site has no user accounts, advertising or analytics. If you use the contact form, it processes the name, email address, project and message you provide. Hosting may generate technical and security logs (for example IP address, timestamp, request and browser information, depending on the IONOS configuration). For abuse prevention, the application temporarily uses a pseudonymous HMAC hash derived from the IP address; this mechanism does not write the raw IP address to application storage.
3. Purposes and legal bases
Enquiries are processed to respond to you and, where a collaboration is contemplated, to take steps at your request before a possible contract. Security, abuse prevention and technical logging rely on the legitimate interest in protecting the website, infrastructure and users.
4. Apple Music
The server queries Apple's search API for public release metadata and caches the result. That server-side request does not send visitor-identifying data. Artwork and the official Apple Music badge are, however, loaded from Apple infrastructure and, when you play a preview, your browser connects to Apple's media host; Apple may then receive ordinary technical request data such as IP address and user agent. Apple links contain affiliate/campaign parameters but no account identifier created by this website.
5. Retention
The form does not store messages in a local database. Received email may be retained for up to 24 months for follow-up, and longer only where a legal or contractual reason requires it. Abuse-prevention files contain timestamps linked to a pseudonymous key and are automatically cleaned up. Hosting-log retention follows the settings and terms applicable to the IONOS account.
6. Recipients
IONOS processes data needed to host and technically deliver the site. Apple receives browser requests when Apple-hosted artwork or audio is loaded. The site does not sell contact information or use enquiries for advertising.
7. Your rights
Subject to the GDPR's conditions, you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, object to certain processing and, where applicable, request portability. You may also lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (APD/GBA).
